Learner Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate how to make a table, graph, and figure for a scientific study
  • Understand ways in which data can be slanted to support a narrative
  • Demonstrate how to critique a table, graph, and figure as a reviewer
Effective scientific communication depends not only on the data itself, but on how that data is presented. This webinar provides a practical, hands-on overview of how to create clear and accurate tables, graphs, and figures for scientific studies and presentations. Participants will learn how design choices, scaling, and data selection can unintentionally—or intentionally—slant data to support a particular narrative. The session will also develop critical review skills, guiding participants through how to evaluate and critique tables, graphs, and figures as a scientific reviewer. By the end of the webinar, attendees will be better equipped to both present data responsibly and assess the quality and integrity of data visualization in scientific work.
