Learner Outcomes: One (1) minute of group laughter Sharing the experience of the 24 day challenge January 24 is belly laugh day. Who does not want time spent in a good belly laugh? In study by Manninen et al. (2017) social laughter modulated the endogenous mu-opioid system supporting social bonding. Laughter yoga was found to lower cortisol levels in first year nursing students offering improvement in the experience of stress (Ozlem Ozturk & Tezel, 2021). Prosocial behavior and the opportunity to reduce stress is a great way to start a new year. This meeting is the culmination of the laughter challenge (1 minute of laughter per day beginning 1/1/24 - 1/24/24), invites folks to participate in 1 minute of group laughter on belly laugh day, and opens space to share insights from their 24 days of laughter. Jacqueline Higgins is a nurse practitioner, aromatherapist, and is pursuing a MS in medical cannabis therapeutics. Jacqueline has practiced in a variety of clinical settings. She is curious about the intersection where plant approaches contribute to health and wellness. She has been the Minnesota area representative for the Alliance of International Aromatherapists since 2020. Jacqueline is most active on Linked-In.
