Teleconferences

AIA's Teleconference held on May 19, 2010.

Our Presenter: Mindy Green, MS, RA, RH (AHG)

Topic: Aromatherapy Business Climate - are you keeping up with the times?

About the Teleconference:
Maintaining relevance and legal compliance in the business world is more important than ever for those with cottage industries within natural products. At the request of AIA, Mindy will be presenting a similar lecture to what she offered at AIA's fall conference in Chicago on aromatherapy business practices: labeling, claims, GMPs and the general changing environment of legislation that affects small companies. There will be at least 15 minutes for Q&A at the end of the lecture.

Meet Mindy Green
Mindy Green has over three decades of experience in the natural products and health care industries, specializing in botanicals. She recently left her position (2003-2009) in the botanical research division of R&D as Clinical Aromatherapist for the Aveda Corporation to begin her own consulting company, Green Scentsations, LLC. A licensed esthetician and massage therapist, she has founded and owned several herb and essential oil businesses focusing on botanical therapies, aromatherapy education and product development.

She is a nationally certified Registered Aromatherapist, is on the Cosmeceuticals Scientific Advisory Board for the Supply Side West Trade Show and Conference, and serves as committee chair for botanicals in cosmetics for the American Herbal Products Association. She has worked for the Integrative Resource Center, Anschutes Cancer Center, at the University of Colorado Hospital, and led botanical expeditions to the Amazon for the American Botanical Council of Austin, TX. Mindy has taught aromatherapy to integrative care docs through Dr. Andrew Weil's program at the Univ of AZ., and has been a guest lecturer at the U of MN, U of CO, Boulder, and Metro State College, Denver.

A prolific writer and international lecturer, she has authored several books and over 40 magazine articles on botanicals, health and skin care. Mindy has a master's degree in Health and Human Services from Columbia Pacific University and has studied the advanced uses of essential oils at Purdue University. A long-time environmental activist, she is a board member of the non-profit United Plant Savers, and thrives by constant learning and contributing to the health and care of Gaia.
