Teleconferences
AIA's
Teleconference held on June 16, 2010.
Our Presenter: Raphael d'Angelo, M.D.
Topic: Essential Oils in Creams: Recipes on the Run
About the Teleconference:
In my busy integrative medical practice I have to rely on a limited inventory of essential oils, rapid assembly of the formulas and an easy delivery system for patients. I will present recipes for common conditions that involve using essential oils in a cream base for topical application.
Meet Dr. d'Angelo
Dr. Raphael d’Angelo completed his initial medical studies in 1976 at the University of Oklahoma and finished a three year residency in family medicine with the U.S. Air Force in 1979. Following military service he returned to Oklahoma and raised his family while providing medical care in a rural setting.
A move to Colorado in 1992 was the beginning of a personal journey in natural and alternative healing. He attended courses offered by the American Holistic Medical Association as well as the Emerson College of Herbology in Canada and graduated from the Australasian College aromatherapy program under the tutelage of Doreen Peterson and Eva Marie Lind.
Dr. d’Angelo founded and directed the Center for Holistic and Integrative Medicine in 2003 located in Aurora, Colorado. He brought his practice into Clinix Healing Center of Centennial, Colorado in 2007 where he now serves as director of integrative and alternative medicine for the clinic’s 15,000 patients. Aromatherapy has been foundational in his natural medicine approach with patients.
Not content to just practice medical aromatherapy, Dr. d’Angelo has served the American aromatherapy community in various capacities: as regional director for the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy; as president of Aromatics in Action; as immediate past president of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists; as teacher, author and aromatherapy researcher.
