Teleconferences

AIA's Teleconference held on April 15, 2009.

Our Presenter:
Victoria Bender, CA

Topic:
Are We Cleaning Ourselves to Death?

About the Teleconference:
What is the FDA’s position on indoor air quality? What exactly does the term “fragrance” encompass from a legal and a consumer’s standpoint? We will look at some of the chemical commodities used in the world of big business and how they are tested for safety. We will also consider current societal health issues and whether there is a connection with the use of these common household chemicals. As health advocates, we can focus on what we can do to help educate the public and offer safe, effective and inexpensive alternatives to protect humankind and the environment.

Meet Victoria Bender:
Victoria Bender is the president and owner of Vscentials, Inc. a web based company dedicated to offering synthetic free and biodynamic personality perfumes, home fragrances and non-toxic household cleaning and educational support; co-owner of Bender’s Relaxation Station, a successful 7-year old retail and online company committed to helping people to understand the importance of proper sleep hygiene offering therapeutic and Tempur Pedic bedding shipped throughout the continental United States.

Victoria proudly serves as the MA State Representative of AIA; Massachusetts State Recycle Committee Chair, Co-founder of Townsend Community Builders and certified member of the American Botanical Council, Mind Life Institute, Energy Action Coalition Group and Noetic Science Institute.

Victoria studied art, law and business administration at Virginia Western and after 15 years as National Sales Manager of one of the country’s largest perishable commodity distributors, she eventually grew so outraged that she became a corporate drop out and enrolled in the Australasian College of Health Science, Master Aromatherapy program to begin to make a change. Victoria lectures throughout New England, and does local cable television appearances about the hazards of common OTC household products, holds educational seminars and workshops to offer cleaner, greener and safer alternatives, and is in the process of finishing her first book, Are We Cleaning Ourselves to Death?
